Neopets

Rating: 8/10, although the game is full of semi-useless items and features that no longer work/so niche to gameplay it's easily forgotten, i can mostly forgive it due to the game being 20-years-old and being the first of it's kind. You need to do some research first before getting into the game but luckily due to it's popularity there is plenty of resources and guides on youtube and fan-websites, my only current gripe with the game is there site-wide events, as if you miss a day you miss out on certain items you can only get on that day and points that could ruin getting a golden event trophy. Still, due to the game's size and age there is plenty of ways to play and has a long interesting history that's fun to dive into.

Chicken Smoothie

Rating: 9/10, probably one of the most simple games on this list, it's less a virtual pet game and more of a card collecting game, best part of the game is that, unless special events are happening, you only need to log in once a month to get new pets, though i reccomend checking the front page for site news just in case, once again, in loses a point due to the same issue that Neopet's events have in which you need to log on every day to make sure you don't miss out on anything, sometimes logging on every 20 minutes if a minigame is involved, also, the community can occasionally be hostile, but it's usually due to player's being protective over there pets and wanting a fair trade.

Dragon Cave

Rating:Rating: 5/10, i'm mostly neutral on this game, it's has a similar simplicity to Chicken Smoothie but is more complicated with it's dragon's stats and breeding, also dragons that are not fully grown can die if not given enough attention which is given via other players and guests looking and clicking on your dragon, the game works best as an accessory to forum user's signatures and a way to show off how dedicated you are to posting. works for some, not for all.

Wolvden/Lioden

ratings: 6/10, these games are reviewed together as they are created by the same company, have very similar core mechanics, and are sister games to each other, although these games are very well made and are fun to delve into, they can easily become very overwhelming and fall into micromanaging hell if that isn't your style, between the two though I recommend playing Lioden over Wolvden due to Lioden being the bigger game that gets more content and updates made for it, my ultimate issue with these games is that they are extremely needy, requires a lot to do for daily tasks, and the majority of mechanics boils down into gambling on lion/wolf genes and if they'll make you a profit in order to get the genes you actually want.

Furry Paws

ratings: 7/10, A game similar to games such as Flight Rising or Lioden, though older and not so focusing on aesthetic genes and more so stat genes, such as how fast your dog is or the hip and eye health of your dog, the game focuses around breeding healthy pedigree dogs and winning shows with them, due to this stat-based gaming I find this easier and more enjoyable then hoping to get an aesthetically pleasing dragon or lion.
