the beginning
Mcdonaldland's was first created in 1963 with one of Mcdonald's most famous mascots: Ronald Mcdonald the clown. despite what many people would assume, Ronald was not infact Mcdonald's first mascot, but was instead a hamburger-headed chef named "Speedee".
mcdonaldland's adverisments started airing in 1971, and was the main form of media that introduced Ronald's friends, starting with characters like Mayor McCheese, Officer Bigmac, and the Hamburglar.
the line would soon expand to toys, books, an animated series, 3 video games, a major motion picture, and most famously, the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), a non-profit charity created in 1974 that supports programs to help children.

Ronald Mcdonald was created in 1963, and is the main mascot of Mcdonald's.
Birdie the early bird
Birdie was created in 1979, introduced as a mascot for the breakfast menu.
Grimace
Grimace was made in 1971, shown alongside Ronald and The Hamburglar in the original 70's advertisments, he is the main mascot for Mcdonald's milkshakes and soft drinks. despite what people may assume, Grimace is not based off of a chicken nugget. his birthday is June 12th, often celebrated with the release of his own purple berry-flavoured milkshake, and he has an uncle called Uncle O'Grimacey, who is the mascot for the seasonal shamrock shakes.
The Hamburglar
The Hamburglar was created in 1971, created as an antagonist towards Ronald in Mcdonaldland's first advertisments.
